Great for cycling in cold weather

I ride over 1,000 miles a month in temperatures ranging from 10F to 110F. I wear shin and knee guards in the winter so external batteries are not an option. They are totally self contained and keep my feet warm! The Bluetooth controller works very well. Manufacturers always overestimate battery life, and I get about 4 hours of heat from them on level 2. I use them conservatively, at 2 or 1, just enough so my feet don't get numb or too uncomfortable, and turn them off when indoors. When you're cycling at 15 to 20 mph at 20 F, your clothes and shoes quickly radiate heat. So don't expect them to keep your feet warm or you'll drain your battery quickly. Use them simply enough to avoid discomfort and they will last a long time. Also, I had 3 of these and they are getting HOT! It seems too hot. But it's good to set them on 3 for a few minutes so they warm up quickly. I like that they charge using a standard mini USB and don't require a proprietary charger. I ride my bike with a power bank so I can charge it off the beaten path when needed. They are very well thought out. They're a bit stiff (because they're very durable and stiff) and probably not comfortable for long walks unless you put a softer insole on top. I ride my bike in Nike Antarctica trainers that are roomy enough to fit inside. Unlike heated socks, these insoles are sweat resistant and easy to clean.
