Review on πŸ“· Enhanced Surveillance Made Easy: All-in-One 3MP Wireless Security Camera System with 12” Monitor, 2TB Hard Drive, and Night Vision by Troy Larson

The system works well, is inexpensive and easy to set up

I wanted a system where the cameras have hard wired power but wireless data transfer to the base unit. This system works very well and at low cost. I've taken the time to set it up and it does require a bit of fiddling, but so far it's plugged in and works as advertised with no hiccups. The reason for the permanent power connection is that I don't have to access the cameras every few months to charge them and keep them powered on all the time so I don't have to worry about missing out. The reason for wireless communication with the base unit is that the cameras are on opposite ends of the secure site. It would be inconvenient and messy to connect all those wires to a central base unit. Wireless transmission worked without problems. Also, I can hide the base unit without cables locating it. Note that the side-to-side viewing angle is much wider than up-and-down. I had no problem turning one of the cameras 90 degrees to get the right angle in the alley. It's just on the side of the monitor. I ordered my system with a 12" monitor. For a few extra dollars, the dedicated monitor (the hard drive is in the same enclosure as the monitor) was great. It fits snugly on the shelf. .It's very easy to put on the screen to click to make an image from the camera fill the screen.Very handy to see if it's a courier, for example.Problem.The antenna is on the side of the camera, on the contrary.Impossible to mount it on the wall to fasten and rotate 90 degrees to the left. To overcome this I made a bracket out of 3 1/2" diameter corner iron.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Price piggy bank
