Not bad for computer microphones

I have to work from home due to COVID-19. My laptop's built-in microphone didn't work very well for video conferencing. I wasn't sure what to look for in a microphone, but I knew I needed something easy to set up and reliable. I use Zoom for meetings and it worked straight away, connected to my laptop and recognized by Zoom. Having a mute button on the mic is great! Zoom has a mute function, but the button on the microphone is much more convenient (green for live, red for mute). The hinge allows for optimal positioning of the microphone, but the screws don't tighten very well. It doesn't really matter to me, but I worry that over time it will slip and the mic will fall forward/back. For the most part, only sound directed towards the front of the microphone will be picked up. To muffle the sounds outside I close the window which makes the room too hot. A fan behind the microphone blows towards me and picks it up a bit. I mounted the mic on a windshield and that seems to have helped. The only reason an asterisk is missing is because I've sometimes been told that my voice sounds distant and slurred by multiple people on the same call. Even when I spoke one to one, I got the same feedback. I tried taking the windshield off and turning the fan off but it sounded the same to them. I tried adjusting the volume on the microphone, but that didn't seem to change for the other people on the call. However, this feedback from others is inconsistent. Sometimes they tell me that they hear me very well. I'm not sure if this is related to the microphone or the software/hardware used in the conference call. Overall, I like the mic for its ease of use, affordability, and compact size for setup and storage. I would recommend this microphone.
