I have this table stand for my phone and this one for my laptop (or cookbook or whatever) is a great idea. The only problem is that the hinges are so tight that it's difficult to smoothly adjust the height/angle when going from sitting to standing. You have to stop everything, grab the stand with both hands and really PULL (trying not to knock the laptop over). If that doesn't work, you'll need to remember where to put the included hex wrench to loosen, adjust, and retighten the pivot bolts. If you try to leave it loose enough to be able to infinitely adjust the position, it won't hold. Another problem is that if you try to adjust it to a higher height or even tilt it backwards, it's not stable and wants to tilt backwards. :( Luckily I have it at a height and angle that works well both sitting and standing so I just tightened it and can leave it in one place.
