The noise canceling mic is fantastic. Now I'm sitting in a noisy, noisy cafe. I recorded myself on my iPhone with Bose 700 noise canceling headphones and then again with these. Of course, the Bose noise cancellation was much better in my ears (I don't think they have in-ear noise cancellation). BUT the mic noise cancellation was 100x better than Bose! With Bose, my voice was quiet and muffled, but with these, my voice was very clear and all background noise was suppressed. So if you just listen, get Bose, Sony, etc. But if you use a mic for work, talk a lot to people in noisy environments, buy one and you'll spend a lot less too!
