Review on URBAN ARMOR GEAR UAG Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Ash Plasma Case - Rugged, Feather-Light, Military Drop Tested by Rick Ross

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The slim, durable body keeps the Note 9 the size of a phone, not a tablet

This is a well made product. I've read about 25 other Note 9 cases and this one had very nice features. Firstly, I doubt that the bezel will save from cracking in any case if the phone is dropped face down on a rough surface or rock. But this case seems to have good corner protection, and the top and bottom edges of the case protrude about 1-2mm above the glass, so the glass won't necessarily hit something and shatter if the phone falls face down. By placing the Note 9 face down on a flat surface, I can place a credit card in the space between the face of the phone and the table. Second, the body is not made of hard plastic. He is easily bendable. Therefore it is easy to grab. Ergonomically it is excellent. The volume and power buttons are pleasant to the touch as they protrude slightly over the edge of the case. The case has a series of small protrusions on the left and right sides that reduce the chance of the phone falling out of your hand. It's good that the Bixby button is flush with the case, so I haven't accidentally pressed it yet. I wish Samsung would turn that Bixby button into a button that does something else. Like a mute button. Third, everything works. The cutouts are large enough for all plug-in parts (power cord, phone jack, stylus) to be easily plugged in and unplugged. The fingerprint reader and heart rate sensor work great with this case as there are a lot of cutouts. Fourth, the wireless charger works great with this case. I have a Samsung charger. Finally, what I really like is that the Note 9 is a phone, and with this thin body, the Note 9 can still be used with one hand. Other cases are much more common. This makes the Note 9 more of a tablet than a phone. Besides the dust cover, it's not clear why the front cover is needed. These covers are made of plastic and will not protect the phone's glass surface from cracking if the phone is dropped face down on a rough surface. I was hoping for that. High quality, pleasant to the touch, simple, light, translucent and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pros
  • I'm holding my fists
Cons
  • Hard to say
