Review on ๐Ÿ“บ One For All Samsung TV Replacement Remote - Universal Compatibility for LED, LCD, Plasma TVs - Same Functions as Original - Black - Urc1810 by Matt Kim

Yes, it really works perfectly. But it's far from a perfect remote control

I bought this universal remote to replace the original remote for my 55 inch Samsung 7100 series circa 2015 in the UN55JUxxx range. First, good. 1. Yes, it works correctly. 2. It has more buttons and options for SmartHub streaming than the tiny, almost useless remote control that this particular TV came with. In particular, it offers functions such as color-coded AD buttons, rewind, fast-forward, stop, play, etc. None of this is on the awful original TV remote. Unlike the small, clunky, slippery original remote to hold with this TV. Now for the worse. 1. It is not backlit. And she is black. Not at all, there are white letters, which helps a little but not much. The buttons I use the most are the up, down, left, and right arrows, which are arranged in a circle around the OK button in the center. These buttons are the only buttons that inexplicably have no white letters. The arrows are black on black buttons and are totally impossible to see/find in broad daylight. And they are only slightly elevated, which also means they cannot be touched.3. The buttons I use the most are on the bottom half of the remote. It's so light, it doesn't feel great in your hand and you really have to use your second hand to hold it while you press those bottom buttons. Otherwise, it will fall right out of your hands. Overall, I'm glad I only spent $30 on this and not $90 on a genuine Samsung remote (which is an absurd price for this tiny useless piece of crap). On the other hand, it feels in the hand like a cheap free remote that comes with a cable box and doesn't feel good in the hand. And the worst thing is that it's almost impossible to use it in a darkened environment. Even now that I know where the buttons are, you can't feel them, let alone see what they're like in a dark room. Even the cheapest $10 remotes are backlit. However, I would like to add that this remote is better than Samsung's universal remote (Samsung AA59-00785A), which is much smaller and has tiny buttons so close together that it's almost impossible to use. This one has a backlight, but it's very dim, which doesn't help much. I will continue to buy something better.

Pros
  • remote controls
Cons
  • boring packaging
