How did you get it so wrong?

I ordered two Moog K80228 ball joints and received four plastic ones instead (picture attached). My car is now in the shop for a few more days because of this whole dilemma. Thank you MOG! The first and last time I order from you.

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Damaged

It just fell into the hole in the steering knuckle.

Too small for the ankle hole but we tried anyway and it was a mistake. The noise became terrible after a few weeks. I replaced it with a 555 ball joint (Beck-Arnley). We had to get Moog back as soon as possible!

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Alright

The sealed Moog ball joint has never been lubricated with grease.

Bought on June 8th, installed after about 2 weeks and had a lot of noise from my suspension for a week. Researched it over the next week and it sounded like my new lower ball joint. After removing it, I found that the sealed block was never lubricated from the factory. 4 days after the 30-day return period has expired.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Expensive

Catastrophic failure!

Rubber part cracked and unusable after installation. Maybe it was dry rot I'm not sure, maybe mechanical failure I'm not sure but both sides had to be removed and replaced, the mechanic was a friend of mine so thank goodness it was done for free. Lost money on these and also on a set of internal Moog tie rods that didn't fit my 2004 Accord 4cy.

Pros
  • Durable coating
Cons
  • Almost never

Solid Ball Joint - Steering & Suspension Tools

I bought this to replace a mechanically installed ball joint that only lasted a year. It completely lost its lubrication and started making that horrible creaking noise which meant I needed a new replacement. The hinge on the left is the MOOG brand that I bought and it fits my 2007 Accord perfectly. It completely stopped the squeaking noise and felt much heavier and more durable than the cheap replacement that had been previously installed. I highly recommend this product.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥

Good ball joint for the price

I ordered one of these to replace my OEM lower ball joint on my Honda Accord. It comes complete with castle nut and cotter pin and appears to be of high quality, unlike the cheap ball joints on eBay. My old ball joint had damaged threads and I couldn't put the castle nut back on. As it turns out, I was able to fix the damaged threads on the old ball joint and put a new castle nut on it, so I haven't replaced it yet, but I'm keeping it as a spare. It costs about 2/3 the OEM Revain and looks well

Pros
  • Everything is fine!

Good price and OEM quality. Fits 03 Accord 4dr EX L4

Fits 03 Accord L4 perfectly. Gotta love Honda for making sure the suspension and braking system on my 13 year old 190K Accord, Nevada, Ohio didn't rust beyond recognition. Worried that "knurling" would complicate installation with a rented press from a parts store (bolt type) but no problems (I had to cut an old bolt off to make the press fit). ). Knurling keeps me up at night knowing they won't come out - remember this is a one time fix. The steering knuckle will not accept any further…

  • Delivery was very fast

Moog makes great followers!

Update from 08/12/19. I had trouble threading the nut in after pressing in the new ball joint. There is no visible thread damage so I figured it was a factory defect. nope! Turns out it was my fault. The cup I used (with the large C-clamp) to press in the new ball joint was a few millimeters shorter. After hitting the bottom inside the cup, I pushed it further with one punch, deforming the tip of the ball joint where the threads start. What was supposed to be an afternoon job turned into a…
