Review on πŸŽ₯ ClonerAlliance Flint LX: High-Quality 1080p USB 3.0 HDMI Video Capture Device with HDMI Out Port – Record, Stream, and Game with Ultra-Low Latency across Android, Windows, Mac, and Linux by Randolph Iglesias

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Record/stream video at 60 frames per second at a significantly lower price point than the competition.

I've been streaming on Twitch for years. I've used major brand USB and PCIE solutions for video capture. I've decided to start streaming again, but I'm not currently using desktop. The USB device I recorded was only 30 fps. I considered my option as I had a newer laptop (USB 3.1 and USB C), but the price range of popular USB solutions was equal to or more expensive than the best PCIE solutions. I had never heard of ClonerAlliance before, but Flint LX fitted the bill perfectly. I took a risk and bought it. Boy did I hit the jackpot. Pros: - Response time for HDMI pass-through is fast. (I know video doesn't have a lag, but that's not what I mean.) On my other USB capture device, the screen would come and go for a few seconds when the video input changed. , resolution, etc. before I could start with it. With the Flint LX, it happened to me almost immediately. The product delivers 1080P 60FPS as promised. (Make sure you select 60 fps in the program of your choice). The product (using a USB 3.1 port) has around 1/4 second latency for me. This is very close to the performance of my previous PCIE card. My other USB device had a delay of about 3 seconds. No driver installation required. If, like me, you prefer OBS, you don't need to install any other software (unless you want to update your device's firmware). The device appears as a webcam, you can share the video stream on Discord Call if you want!CONS: - Downloadable software after registration (HDML Cloner) leaves a lot to be desired. There is an audio delay in this software, even with the latest version and firmware. (This is a software problem, not a hardware problem). I only recommend installing HDML Cloner for firmware updates. Luckily, OBS is freely available. In other software like OBS, there is no audio lag when recording or streaming. Make sure you choose a resolution and frame rate when adding a device to OBS. Conclusion: Flink LX delivers excellent value for money and does what it promises, just use another recording/streaming software.
