ALWAYS TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!

I purchased 24 packs of Wellness CORE Grain Free Dry Cat Food Salmon/Whitefish & Herring and a 12 pound pack of Wellness CORE Grain Free Dry Cat Food Fish & Poultry Recipe ) when I adopted my two cats about 3 months ago . (Now they are about 6 months old.) I feed them these two foods along with raw food. I plan on switching them to a mostly raw diet at some point, but I want them to get used to eating a wide variety of foods from a young age so they'll be more adaptable in the future when raw food isn't always available. However, Wellness CORE canned food causes diarrhea in both of them. They got all their vaccinations and came back clean when tested for parasites and no other food was causing them nutritional problems (including some mice they had caught and killed themselves). So far I've fed them 6 out of 24 cans and after that they inevitably had soft stools for about 24 hours. The reason I give this product 3 stars instead of 1 is because I don't think it's a bad product per se. As far as I can tell, Wellness CORE offers one of the healthiest dry food options on the market, and I suspect the other products in their line are of the same caliber. However, that doesn't work for my cats. They are sisters from the same litter, so it's not surprising that they share the same dietary sensitivities. I suspect most cats will not get diarrhea from this product. Maybe even my cats would be fine with a chicken/turkey/liver recipe, I'm not sure. I just want to encourage other cat owners trying this product for the first time to start with a can and see how your cats do with it before buying in bulk.
