This is a sturdy container for any liquid you want. I bought it specifically for cold coffee. Previously used a stainless steel French press and now only used for hot brewing. The capacity of this glass jar is large. After a month of use, there have been no durability issues, no chips or cracks for any reason. The strainer is large enough to fill with any amount of your favorite coffee. The lid and the rubber seal that holds everything together fit well together and seal well. The only problem is the holes in the brewer, although tiny. They still let some finishing touches through. I use a coarse grind for a French press. The amount is negligible, so not critical. Usually, the grist residue settles to the bottom and only soaks into the very last cup poured from your batch. Can be easily solved by pouring the last cup through a filter or cheesecloth to catch the remaining grind. Otherwise it's great! And I plan to buy a few more.
