Review on Purina Friskies Gravy Wet Cat Food: Shreds With Beef in Gravy, Pack of 24 - 5.5 oz. Cans by David Royles

Cat liked it until he was diagnosed with diabetes

Both of our cats love Friskey - almost anything but pie. Unfortunately, one of our cats (only 5 years old) was recently diagnosed with diabetes, prompting us to evaluate the levels of this substance in commercial cat food. All cats, but especially diabetics, need a diet that is high in protein but not high in carbohydrates (not so many carbs in mice, if you think about it!). Unfortunately, Friskies just doesn't have the good nutritional profile that we are currently looking for in both kittens. Less than 10% carbs and over 40% protein (which means the company can't cut carbs and replace them with loads of fat). We also learned that all "sauce", like people's, is bad news. If you are looking for a high-quality food for your cat with this nutritional profile, look for classic solid foods or "gentle" foods.
