You can use this disinfectant in many ways. I use it for my phone, keyboard, trackball and tablets. You can easily use this for your shoes, doorknobs, etc. I had Phonesoap before I bought it and it only worked for my phone and probably a few other small items you could put in it. Also, one of my previous phonesoaps arrived with a broken top bulb. Another stopped working. Then I came across this wand and it was awesome. You have to point it down for the light to come on. This is a security feature, so I have no complaints. Also, I like that you don't have to point the device straight down for the light to work - you can have an angle that's good for certain things you're sanitizing. You will need to use a longer cable (USB to Micro-USB) depending on where your power supply is in relation to what you are sanitizing. Or you can not worry about the cable at all and use it with batteries. I will most likely take it with me when traveling and additionally use it at home.
