actually i was going to send it back when i received it because of the size, it's quite big and i don't have much storage space. I wanted to exchange it for a smaller version. It must have been disposable, and I ended up using it to make Thanksgiving sauce. I've never used a sauce separator before, but I have to say it works surprisingly well. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the sauce was to make. I poured the drips in and the fat rose well enough for me to pour the drips into the sauce. My only criticism, as another reviewer noted, is that I wish it had a spout cleaning brush. The dishwasher couldn't clean it and I had to get creative to get it right.
