Revainrating 5 out of 5

Updated rating. I recommend this new model with the latest updates.

The original review title was We took a chance, but this projector isn't ready for prime time ) and movies. This projector advertises these features, but we found the experience and technology to be lacking. I don't write many negative reviews as I research every purchase before making a purchase, but this is an exception. First, we thought the picture quality was good for the price, and it's 1080, which supports movies. It was also easy to set up with the included HDMI cable. Cons start with lumens. This projector is rated at 3600 lumens, but when we used it alongside our Epson 3000 lumen projector (not 1080) the difference was night and day. It was darkness. The projector is bright enough and has LEDs, which is nice, but lumens are a measure of brightness so it can't be 3600. The second flaw was the interface. The remote control is much easier to use than the buttons on the projector, but not very pleasant. The buttons are documented in the manual, but in real life it could be a "Back" or "Exit" button, depending on the menu. Some of this is based on trial and error, but it's still disappointing. The main reason I chose this brand/model was for screen sharing from a mobile device. We couldn't get it to work. We were able to successfully get the "Air Play" option to have the projector show up on our iPhone, but there was an error with the selection. The troubleshooting guide suggested running the updater. We tried this option but it stayed at the same level for an hour so we tried restarting the update and couldn't start it again. Therefore, this projector is inexpensive and can be a great option for movie viewing. via HDMI; However, I wouldn't recommend using it for outdoor (dimmed) screen sharing or iOS. Updated on 01/21/2020 ======================================== ===== ============ As originally stated, we returned this projector as it did not meet our requirements. The replacement for the WIKISH is a new model that corrects many of my initial concerns. The negative points in my review can be broken down into 3 categories: 1) LED lumens versus ANSI lumens 2) Interface 3) Airplay capabilities 1) Lumens Of course you can't equal # LED lumens to LCD lumens. This projector is bright enough to watch at home and project the image from your phone or laptop onto the wall/screen/screen. In addition, compared to a cooling circuit, it is significantly quieter, heats up less and switches off immediately. I suspect the bulbs will last a lot longer and save hundreds of dollars. 2) Interface The interface of the new model is much simpler. Also, you can now use your iPhone as a remote control; which changes the rules of the game. Secondly, the installation was very quick. Point the projector at the wall and connect the power. With the HDMI cable, I was able to watch videos with just a few clicks. Very easy. Another nice change is that the remote now has an input button that lets you toggle between DTV, ATV, HDMI1, HDMI2, VGA, AV, YPbPr, and Media Browser. WiFi setup was quick, and once connected, firmware updates downloaded automatically. (after asking if you want to upload). 3) Air Play in Windows OS. There was no problem watching programs via HDMI or even displaying my iPhone/Droid screen on the wall. It was all SIMPLE. At first I couldn't tap on my Win10 laptop's screen with Miracast. WIKISH has provided several alternative free options for activation including the eShare app and Splashtop. In fact, WIKISH technical support and many emails with information were very helpful in finding the best option. Immediately after downloading eShare to my phone, the projector recognized my phone and projected. Projector due to DRM. Netflix streaming from phone to projector is blocked but other content like YouTube is not a problem. Final note: They have a new guide that is easier to follow. There's a speaker that's great for movies. We turned on Bluetooth in the projector. Settings and it was paired with my Yamaha BT center channel. These updates make me feel great to recommend this projector to friends.
