This clamp was used to mount a 3" OD exhaust pipe into a 3" ID stainless steel muffler. It worked very well. Remember that for this type of clamp to work best, the outer tube must be cut about 3/4 inch deep at least in places where the clamp can make a good, tight connection. These band clamps are great if you ever need to disassemble your exhaust system as they will not permanently deform components. If your outer tube isn't slotted and you don't have the necessary tools, it's probably better to use a U-bolt clamp.
