Review on Kidde P4010LDCS W Emergency Intelligent Interconnect by Ryan Sandell

I bought several of these, tempted by the promise of a 10 year battery life. I had to buy a few because we just installed 6 in our house and the battery has been dead for a year. Why did we replace them with an equally bad product? Because companies make them in such a way that the mount is only suitable for their own product. Instead of scratching the ceiling by installing a new mount, I bought a couple of these. A month later one of the NEW batteries died. It is a poorly designed product or cheaply made. All in all I've had 3 of these cigarettes that died within 18 months when guaranteed to last 10 years. One was EXTREMELY difficult to turn off and kept beeping, adding to the annoyance of the non-working factor.
