Polyester fabric feels and looks smooth but stays flat for light pleating work. absorption goes. It definitely saves me the trouble of wiping sweat from my forehead or eyes during a workout. For the price, I wish this headband was a bit longer. It is definitely functional and fit. It's just not as comfortable as I'd like it to be. One of the reasons I prefer headbands is that they are more comfortable on my (larger) head. This bandage fits but leaves little material to work with. The short knots "tails" tangle/mix with my ponytail and just aren't as pretty on the hair as longer ties. the pattern remained firm with no bleeding or fading. I would be careful to wash this with softer clothes as the soft fabric can "pick up" from the coarser material, or better yet, wash it in a delicates bag if you have one. I used the wash in cold water and dried at normal temperature.
