Revainrating 5 out of 5

I like the lamp in general. But here's what they don't make very clear:

Precise placement of controls. There is a bit of a sneaky seller aspect here, had it been shown more clearly I might have hesitated. So I've attached a photo showing this. I was hoping the controls would be closer to the business end of this world, like the top end or the end closest to you. Like many other lamps of this type, touch controls over the entire surface. This arrangement limits its use to accessing basic controls. Where I wanted the base to be tucked in there in the farthest corner with a light above the dual monitor system. For this, the length and height of the extension is perfect, the longest I could find in this class. I suppose it won't and doesn't bother many people. Given the 5 star reviews (myself included) and no mention of it. These hopeful assumptions are my fault, so I cannot belittle them here. This is a well built, very aesthetic, very functional, almost infinitely adjustable, bright, with good color options, sleek industrial style metal lamp. Even when properly grounded, there is no cyclic hum in the audio signal paths (which is important to me and what I do). It's just that my opinion here doesn't make much sense given the overall design, a very long arm extension to accommodate the light concentration that far from the controls: why not just place the controls on top of the light source if you can? Restricts this light to side mounting on a table or bedside table, desk, anywhere within easy reach of the base. Like a traditional lamp, whose design clearly defies traditional lamp operation. In any case. I'm sure I'll find a great spot for him, but not the one I was hoping for. That's why I took this little chance in the first place. All is well.
