I've been an active New Balance running shoe wearer for 15 years. Sometimes I get 10 Β½ D and sometimes 11 D. Unfortunately, NB cannot always make 11 shoes the same. At the same time, I first bought 11 Wide. After reading so many people complaining that the shoe size was smaller than expected, I settled on the 2E. I just walked 3km today. Comparing the new shoes to my old NB 11 D, I can say that they are quite similar. Length 11 is perfect. That leaves enough room for my front toe. I feel like walking again at 10 Β½ would constrict my toes. Width wise, I have a strong feeling that these shoes are a half size smaller than the listing. Other than the roomier toe box, I didn't notice much of a difference between my old NB 11D and this one. So I'd probably be fine with the medium as the shoe will eventually break, but I'm not complaining about the wider option. Because I don't really think it's a true 2E, more like a 1E - if there is such a thing. The shoes ran smoothly - I trust the fresh foam - and my run was amazing! I also love her look and the price couldn't be much better! Overall these shoes get 4 stars... but considering how hard it is to find quality shoes for under $50 maybe they deserve 5 stars. If you like New Balance and durable, comfortable trail running shoes, you can't go wrong.
