The product came in a cardboard box in a plastic bag. No defective LED! One in the holder, 3 carbon LEDs and 3 yellow ones. The handpiece sharpener is screwed to the top of the lid and makes a very solid impression. I have an edge ruler with tiny slits at each measurement mark and that will work. The pencil stand is made of durable and thick hard plastic with a pocket clip on the side, press it from top to bottom to release more lead. Very nice metal end that supports the lead while writing. All in all a very nicely made product. Lead is strong, not easy to break, but with even and clear writing/marking lines.
