I bought two of these cables based on reviews from other reviewers. However, my experience was less than great as the cables don't seem to be working properly. I tried two different cables with two different LG 4K Thunderbolt displays, three and two different MacBook Pros. My setup is a MacBook stacked on my desk with a Thunderbolt Three cable running to the display. The display is fully connected with the Thunderbolt 3 cable and signals from the MacBook as there are no controls on the screen itself. The screen has only one input for power and USB Type-C, as well as three Thunderbolt inputs on the back, and is entirely dependent on signals from the MacBook to control brightness, sound, and other settings. I find data transfer issues and other things like MacBooks not waking up when I press a key on the keyboard. I've had none of these issues when using the cables I bought from Apple with the cables that came with the box. LG display, which is annoying because they are overpriced.
