I bought the basic color version (to match the basic color of the room) for my 14 month old daughter to keep her log book collection. pull them down and bring them back. ASSEMBLING It took me almost an hour to assemble this, with breaks for toddlers. I recommend unpacking the box out of the play area of small children due to the use of styrofoam. It breaks up into crumbs very easily. The instructions are pretty simple. You could use an extra hand when it comes to attaching the other side of the bookshelf, but it's possible to do it yourself. Also, I had some trouble screwing in some screws; It was very difficult to overcome and it took me the most time. Someone with grip/joint issues might have trouble with this PRODUCT Material is washable, not machine washable (according to manufacturer) and appears to have some durability. The sides of the shelves are easy to clean. It's durable and lightweight. It's a bit small but I think the size is great for adding storage without taking up a lot of space. The USEI loves how durable it is and I like to let my LO use it alone. When you put the [board] books in the bottom hanger you can sometimes hit or go over the bottom brace and this has frustrated my LO [and I] several times when trying to remove their books. Still working on her technique, it might take her a while to fit the book into the somewhat tight openings, but she's up for the challenge. SUMMARY I recommend this article. It was a great addition to our playroom as it doesn't take up valuable floor space and [IMHO] I think it holds enough books that it doesn't become "too heavy" when knocked over compared to traditional bookcases. I expect this to last some time (years) and will even buy a second one if we need space.
