Revainrating 5 out of 5

I give this monitor 6 stars

This is a wonderful monitor; If I could put 6 stars I would. The detail is just perfect. There's not a trace of the backlight glow that everyone is always talking about. It feels like I'm looking at the newspaper and not the TV monitor. The reflection people are talking about doesn't exist. Coverage Complaints? You can see nothing like what they describe. There were no dead pixels. If you want to turn it into a TV, you can easily do that too. I just bought a $39 HomeWorx HDTV with Media USB support that works fantastic. Remember that you need to connect the 3.5mm stereo audio output to another audio amplifier to hear sound from the TV. In my case I have a second monitor which augments my desktop with its own built in stereo speakers which I use to power the TV audio and uses a better set of active speakers to play audio from my computer. It works well. With an ATI Radeon 6700 card I'm running this monitor and a second VGA monitor using a VGA to HDMI adapter cable (works great with great clarity). Had to do it this way because people on the internet said that this video card doesn't support VGA output at the same time as DVI output to this monitor. but it allows DVI at the same time as HDMI, which seems correct. (I haven't tried connecting directly to the VGA input, but it works great). The two things this monitor lacks (if you see what I had to add to make it do something like this) are an HDTV tuner and built-in speakers. I just love the almost double the footprint of my old dual 17" LCD system years ago. Great. I can now work in Painter X3 or Photoshop CS6 on this monitor while viewing the instructions on a smaller monitor. Christine always has problems with monitors. She sees every flicker when she gets a migraine. Even on an old LCD monitor, she says, she recently had to turn it off because it "flickered." This? For her he was perfect. Not the slightest trace of flicker. easy on the eyes. When I look at the LCD monitor, the color balance changes across the entire screen. It seems a lot less sharp than this monitor (which is absolutely perfect in its clarity). Uniformity of each pixel over the entire surface. perfect (simply shows the difference between modern technology and technology 10 years ago). I would call this monitor an amazing marvel (and I've never said anything like that about any other product I've ever reviewed). I'm a devotee who can almost always complain (most things aren't perfect). I would say that the ports on the bottom are hard to reach. It would be nice if they placed the audio-out port on the left, along with the USB 3.0 ports (which I've had no problems with on Windows 7 and on my computer). One thing nobody ever mentions is a tiny opportunity. even have a horizontal slope. My computer desk has been in use for over 15 years so it sags in the middle. This means most other monitors had to be placed on the right side in order for the monitor to face straight ahead. With this monitor, I found that I had a slight ability to tilt the monitor counter-clockwise (enough for the monitor to look straight now, even though I didn't put anything under the right side of the monitor. My bed is nearby) . to the monitor, so I also like how I can turn the monitor to the left to watch movies in bed. Finally, my opinion on the monitor: GOOD: 1. Impeccable image quality - clarity 2. Perfect color balance with no fiddling like I've had to do in the past 3. No backlight in any corner 4.No dead pixels.5.Overall rating 6 stars, if you could give that BAD thing: 1. No TV tuner (no computer monitor has one anyway) 2. No built in speakers but you can output HDMI audio through the audio out port so you can add a second amp for HDTV listening, if you use this input for this reason). Incredible monitor. LOVE TO SEE IN FUTURE VERSIONS: 1. Exactly the same 32" diagonal monitor2. Separate USB input that allows you to connect an external MicroSD or USB drive that supports MP3 music, MPG movies and photos (purchasing an external HDTV HomeWorx Box gives the monitor this capability, but at a lower quality , as if this function was built in).3. Built-in speakers instead of being able to connect an external Dell speaker.

Pros
  • VGA, DVI, HDMI
Cons
  • Poor image quality and resolution.
