A small base negatively affects stability.
The small base of these blocks does not offer great stability. They need to be modified with a larger base, but this requires welding. The craftsman's ship was also anything but outstanding. These devices, by design, use a roll pin through a nut and threaded rod for functionality. They were installed incorrectly and therefore did not allow basic height adjustment. I had to find a punch and a hammer, they drove those pins deeper before I could use the blocks. The concept is simple, but overall I was disappointed with the product. Glad I didn't order two sets.
