I was expecting a thicker oath. He was small to say the least (my oldest dog is 55 pounds). I bought an extra memory foam mattress topper from Wal-Mart (double size). I cut the topper to the dimensions of the Armarkat foam and it fits perfectly inside the waterproof liner. I now have the type of orthopedic bed I was looking for. I just had to be a little creative and plan a little to get what I wanted. The cost of this bed was budget friendly (compared to Petco). So even though I had to buy an extra mattress from Wal-Mart, I still ended up spending less than if I bought this bed from Petco.
