Dishwasher Safe on Disposable Drinkware

California wants to ban plastic straws, maybe because Californians are too lazy to find trash cans. I'm from Tennessee where we have the best manners when it comes to keeping our environment clean. end of discourse. :) I've been using silicone straws for a few years and always have them in my RTIC thermal mug. I recently bought a second RTIC mug and received a new set of silicone straws: one for me, a pair for friends and family and a few spares. These are great "permanent straws" with good taste, no taste and longevity. Use the brush provided (two of them) for a thorough cleaning or simply place the straw upright in the dishwasher along with the knives and forks. "Improved" paper straws are new to the restaurant. It's certainly an improvement over the ones we had before plastic straws, but they still flex and break after a few minutes of submersion in a drink. Maybe good enough for those who don't take their drinks from the restaurant, but nothing I'd endure sipping a few more miles down the road. I probably just leave the silicone straw in my drinks glove compartment on the way from the gas station.
