Review on πŸ“― HornBlasters Musket Air Horn Kit with Compressor by Herthoel Yanda

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good sound and volume, the kit was missing

The installation package was not convincing. The rectangular bracket pictured was not included, as were the second pair of mounting screws. Thankfully I didn't need a right angle mounting bracket, but it might open up more mounting options. The compressor and horn mounting bolts were different sizes, so I had to switch tools. I found this unnecessary and would have preferred if they were the same size. The instructions said to drill 5/16" holes for the horn, which were too big for the hardware that came with it. The flange heads started pulling out as I tightened them. I had to take them off and add washers as the holes were already drilled. Possibly the missing bolt set was 5/16". I don't have a lot of room in the engine bay, but I was able to fit a musket hidden in the fender above the wheel arch. The supercharger was just mounted next to it through an existing hole. Except for the relay there was there is no wiring at all. I wasn't aware that the kit does not come with any wiring and must be ordered separately. I cut my own to the correct length which was probably easier than using a kit but certainly took more time. Me followed the advice of other reviews and cut the pvc tubing to length to increase the volume.Aside from the installation I'm happy with the horn,it's nice and loud although not at the level of a real high pressure air horn. But for the money and ease of installation this is a good compromise The video clip shows Hornblaster's musket, PIAA enhanced bass (330 Hz and 400 Hz) and OEM horn (400 Hz). The musket is aimed at the camera from the other side of the wing, the rest is fired in front of the radiator.
