It was one of those items that now makes me wonder why it took me so long to get it. The assembly is actually easier than with an outdoor trampoline. You lay the material on top of the round tubes that make up the base and then just bend them. Yes, it takes a bit of force to open it fully, but I managed it myself. For reference, I weigh 120 pounds and have virtually no strength. I can carry a baby, but that's my level of training. In any case, everything else fits together and the top rail bolts to the sides of the two legs. You can place the top bar in the middle (like ours) or on the side to increase the open space for jumping. It comes with a protective sheet around the mat that hasn't slipped or shifted yet. I purposely waited several months to write this review to let you know how it held up. My children are there every day. Literally. I haven't had a day that someone hasn't jumped on it. Nothing has broken. Nothing. My children are 8, 6 and 3 years old. Everyone jumps on it, and sometimes at the same time. I jumped on it myself to test the grip and it holds up great. You won't go crazy with this thing, but it's really fun. My kids have been exercising a lot more than before and they don't even realize it. To do this, come up with all kinds of games. My 6 year old fell off once and then just got up and put it back on. To be honest, she tried to grab her legs while jumping, although I told her she was going to fall. She was fine, not even a bruise. It sits very low on the ground. My cats can crawl under it but not a child. If they fell, it wouldn't be far enough or high enough to do any serious damage. I let them jump around while I'm doing laundry in the other room and stuff without thinking. We've been here for months and everything is still securely connected and holding up flawlessly. The main bar can support all my weight without moving. If anything happens to this item I will immediately buy another one. You are having so much fun with it!
