These are comfortable shoes for walking outdoors in cool weather. While not waterproof, they don't let moisture in if you step in a shallow puddle or walk on wet grass etc. The upper is very soft and flexible, not stiff at all. They are a bit wide and roomy and I have narrow feet, but I can wear them very comfortably if I tighten the laces. No problem. I opted for a cushioning insole, there is definitely enough space for most insoles. The shoes themselves have a fairly minimal sockliner and not a ton of arch support or padding. They have good treads on the outside but look worn as they are not that deep.
