Review on πŸ”’ Boost Security with Sendt Blue Notebook/Laptop Combination Lock Cable by John Bailey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good value for money

I use them in a retail store to protect laptop displays. It feels solid and the lock feels secure. The numbers have a positive click when rotated. Some combo cables reset too easily, resulting in an accidental reset to an unknown combination. This isn't difficult at all, but impossible without a small flathead screwdriver. Simply insert the screw, turn a quarter turn, install the new combination, then back off the screw. The only problem I see with it is the T-end. Some slots on laptops, especially the very thin "Ultrabook" or "Sleekbook" types have very little space on the sides of the slot. This one may not fit some of them. However, they aren't as wide as some I've seen, so this may not be an issue at all. I also have some Targus Defcon locks. You don't need as much space on the sides of the slot. Build quality is similar between them, if not slightly better, and the Targus costs about $10 more on average. I'm happy with it. edit: I've been using some of these for a while and still really like them. I've found the easiest way to lock them is to enter the code, then just insert them into the slot, press and twist. Make sure, make sure you turn in the right direction so the numbers are easy to read, otherwise you'll have to turn your laptop or whatever over to enter the code. Also make sure it is centered in the slot and that both pins fit into the slot or are not blocked. While I've wondered how well they work on sleek and ultrabooks, they match everything I've tried. There is nothing more to worry about. they go with everything I've tried. There is nothing more to worry about. they go with everything I've tried. There is nothing more to worry about.

Pros
  • Excellent design that prevents accidental reset of the combination
Cons
  • Damaged
