Cut the lens to the desired size. more movement than I thought

I bought +1.50 effort. Outside of the packaging, the lenses were easy to stick onto the glasses with warm water. In the first photo, the lenses were too high, which affected normal vision. The second photo is for reference only to show how crooked my sunglasses are. Then I went to cut them. With a new X-acto #11 blade, my first attempt at trimming was a failure. I tried to cut through the entire lens without scoring to get the smoothest possible edge. Well I ran into a few problems. The plastic is THICK, my ruler and cut surface were clean and didn't stick to the lens. On my first try, the lens moved when trying to cut in one pass. The next time I tried I did better because I scratched the lens, but towards the end of the cut the lens stretched so the final cut wasn't even. Since there wasn't a single clean cut, I kept working until I had a fairly even cut on both lenses. I shaved about 3mm off each lens. When reinstalling the lenses, one side washed off easily with warm water. The other side was a serious fight. I tried warm water and it didn't happen. Upon pressing down, an edge immediately began peeling and an air pocket formed until the lens flattened out and was no longer sticky. Then I started using hotter and hotter water, being careful not to overheat the plastic so it doesn't warp. The last solution was water that didn't boil but was too hot to dip the lens in with your fingers. I used chopsticks :) Only then could I make a non-permanent mount. Lenses cropped and installed in the 3rd photo. In the end they work perfectly. I have lenses so I don't have to switch to reading glasses when wearing contacts and sunglasses. Potential buyers should be aware that cropping can be an issue if they need to crop them and expectations should be set accordingly. If the cut is uneven, the edge will be more visible. I don't think the tricky lens was cut just enough to give it enough reason to peel off. Using hot water, as mentioned by another reviewer, solved this problem without additional pruning. While I haven't had any issues with the lenses in hot water, water that is too hot could damage (stretch or warp) the plastic. Take your time and go slowly. This was more of a challenge than I expected, my manual skills didn't match my "plan" for a clean cut. Took a lot longer than I expected. I hope this helps if anyone encounters the same issues. (Your mileage may vary ;) )
