Review on πŸͺ‘ Leick Anyplace Side End Table in Russet: Space-saving Excellence for Contemporary Living by Mark Sergio

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Solid and wood, but most likely not solid wood

This is a durable, attractive and easy to assemble piece of furniture that wouldn't look out of place in a room that also includes a few genuine Stickley pieces. (The Stickley's equivalent of the Leick Mission side table costs about $1,600, so choosing a Leick was an easy one given its intended use.) However, cabinet makers and purists should be aware that the top, legs, brackets, and the drawer top , and drawer sides are all made of solid wood, the sides of the table top and the bottom shelf are made of veneered fiberboard (ie MDF). Which doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing. MDF provides a very stable base for veneers, and veneered MDF is popular in everything from high-end furniture stores to Wal-Mart sales. And other than drilling or cutting the components in question, I can't be 100% sure that MDF is involved, but I suspect it is. For everything it's worth to you. I'm happy with my purchase and while I was hoping that the veneer mentioned in the description would only be used to hide the end grain, I knew there was a good chance, especially at this price (especially since the description doesn't say 'solid wood ") - to make it more widely used. So I'm a little disappointed, but not surprised at all.
