Review on Zoeller 30 0181 Plastic Check Valve by Kadarius Gentry

valve good enough but the clamps that came with it gave me a BIG PROBLEM. I think this valve design and construction makes it better than some others in this price range, but my drain pump failed because of the cheap Chinese made clamps it came with. What happened was that just a few months after I installed it in my sump, the yoke broke (opened on its own), allowing the sump line to disconnect under the check valve. My drain pump ran all the time and couldn't pump water because the line was disconnected; flooding followed. Zoller should look at the sources for these clamps and see if the metallurgy is what it should be. In my case, it wasn't salt water, it was regular ground water in Kansas. If you buy one of these, I highly recommend getting a higher quality clamp (e.g. marine grade with all parts 300 or 316 stainless steel)!
