I'm sad we didn't buy this sooner! My dog loves this and sometimes prefers it over my bed. It's sturdy enough that my youngest climbs into it to snuggle with our chihuahua. We bought things to pad it up more than it was but it is excellent without doing that. My dog mostly uses the top but the bottom is perfect for the dogs that like the den affect.
