Review on 🐶 Diamond Naturals Skin & Coat Real Salmon and Potato Recipe Dry Dog Food: A Nutrient-Rich Formula for a Lustrous and Healthy Dog Coat by Kristin Lane

We have been using Diamond Naturals Grain Free Salmon for over a year now and have found it to be fine. The dog liked it, no question. til today. Our 7 year old Italian Greyhound was acting sluggish and not himself. So we went to the vet. It turned out that his heart was greatly enlarged (should be 30% of the cavity, now 70%). The first question the vet asked was what type of food he was eating. When we told him Diamond Naturals was grain-free, he explained that he and other vets had seen a huge increase in heart problems and heart enlargement from grain-free products and switched to them immediately. We really hope this is reversible. I'm not here to berate the company or make unsubstantiated claims. In fact, I've read about the best dog food and Diamond Naturals has a grain version. So we will decide to go this route as soon as he is healthy again and the vet approves it. I'm only writing this review for their grainless version to warn you what could happen. Do your research and speak to your veterinarian. Perhaps some breeds are more prone than others in this area.
