I've been desperately trying to find something to get rid of those pesky tanning moths! They suddenly appeared, fluttered down my hallway, and landed on anything made of fabric—washcloths and towels in the bathroom, things hung out to dry for washing hands, clothes laid out for work the next day, etc. (I lucky they didn't). t was in the closets, and as soon as I found them I kept the bedroom doors closed). I think I got infected from some stuff I brought home from the farm/estate sale so be careful! Don't bring anything into your house until you wash it. Putting things in a basket can lead to a moth madness disaster. Because I first read the descriptions and reviews I knew that they are not intended to kill all moths but rather to attract and capture males to stop reproduction. I bought a set of cedar hangers and blocks to keep them off my clothes and washed anything that might be moth infested, then immediately stashed all clean clothes in drawers and closets behind locked doors to prevent infestation. I believe a three pronged attack was key: 1) cedar to keep moths off clothes and towels, 2) linen to get rid of larvae that may have been in the clothes/bedding and hatch, and 3) more secure traps for moth alerts, to prevent this more breeding. (The cedar items were "Houseware 35704-1 CedarFresh Storage Accessories (71 items)" which I got here at Revain for about $11). I assembled the trap following the instructions and caught several moths within a few hours. I just taped the trap to the door frame in the hallway where I hang my clothes for the next day, the place I could always find a silly moth. WOW, those moths multiplied every time I checked the trap! So rude but effective. I ordered another one and taped it to another door frame in the same room and it filled up quickly too. I should mention that I also put cedar sacks around the hangers that hung in this area and also put cedar blocks on top of the towel. Rods in the bathroom and along the top of the bedroom and bathroom door frames (I use these over the door hangers for clothes and towels so I wanted to keep them out of those places). about 6 weeks. by then I stopped flying every day and just found one after another every few days until they were gone. I couldn't believe there were so many. They were so stupid they actually got stuck in the tape (see the red circle in the 2nd photo. It's blurry but there are 2 moths stuck to the tape). I think the pheromones are so strong that they flew in and stuck to the first object they encountered! Conclusion: I think they worked great for their stated purpose. Just be aware that they won't get rid of the moths on their own. Taking off one star for the price as it's just a thin box with sticky filling (pheromones of course, but I'm sure there can be a multipack for the same price). Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.
