It was hard for me to peel the cover off, but it was just a minor inconvenience. After inserting the batteries, the device recognized my 2 year old Samsung TV. All functions worked, except for switching TV channels, like on the native remote control. After a lot of experimentation, I found out that this is a simple version of the original Samsung device. It doesn't have a pairing feature, which seems to be the reason for the inability to change TV channels. For this reason I am sending it back today.
