Review on πŸ”Œ NetDot Gen7 Magnetic Charging Cable for Micro USB Smartphone and i-Product (3.3ft / 3 Pack Gray) (netdott3gray) by Caleb Quade

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Almost 5 stars in Cables & Accessories

The magnetized charging cable is a great idea. I ran a 5 minute test using a NetDot cable and a Samsung proprietary fast charge cable. My Samsung Galaxy S7 battery increased by 4% in 5 minutes using both cables. No loss of loading speed, which makes me very happy. While the magnets are strong, you still need to be careful about how you place or handle your phone while it's charging. If you try to separate the phone and the cable, you will feel the attraction of the magnets. This is where strength comes into play. However, if you slide the cable forward or backward, it effortlessly separates the magnets at an angle and the connection is lost. Next week I'll see how uncomfortable a tricky connection can be and will update if I want to go back. It is not true that this cable does not charge. Not sure what Android phone they have and if it's compatible with the NetDot cable, but the cable will definitely charge. Also, another customer commented on this 1 star review claiming they had the same issue until realizing that there are 2 different connectors - 1 for iPhone and 1 for Android - and what do you (if you have Android) need you need to disconnect the iPhone connector. before the Android Connector can connect. That strikes me as perfectly common sense, and if not common sense, it really shouldn't be that hard to figure things out for yourself. If you're having trouble figuring out how to get a cable to work, hopefully read one of the many reviews that will tell you what to do before you give up and leave a 1 star rating.

Pros
  • Perfectly compatible with iPhone and most Android devices with Micro USB port (Samsung S7/S7 Edge/Tab S may not work). However, it is not compatible with 2nd generation NetDot cables or any other cables.
Cons
  • Doubtful
