I needed a marine radio for my golf cart overhead console. Dropping in was easy and it works great, except the display is too dim for daytime use, even in a shaded area, even at max brightness. Update: Now the display is completely unreadable. Again looking for something to use in the sun like a boat or golf cart. :) Update 2: This device's display is unusable when mounted above the user's eye level (e.g. golf cart overhead console). The specifications do not indicate the viewing angle. It appears to be straight or about 45 degrees higher. Poor FM reception too. I added an external antenna and when I scan for stations it picks up less than half of the ones available.
