There is an inexplicable lack of durable desktop microphones. The Gator Series 3000 seemed to be the straight answer. It's not like this. I bought a blue arrow rest that has none of these issues. Here are the problems: 1. Built-in microphone cable. It's like plastic has formed around the cable entry and exit points and there is absolutely no way to replace the cable. This is marketed as a "broadcast" rack. I'm surprised any professional audio engineer *ever* used the cable built into such devices, let alone purchased devices that didn't allow for cable interchange.2. The cocking mechanism is a long strip of metal exposed at the joints. The screws are tightened into these metal strips to provide resistance. Monitor arms that cost less have much more complex clamping mechanisms, I don't know why they couldn't have done better for this mic stand. It is very strange to move and it seems that he wants to stay in place. Not liquid at all.3. Rotation of the base is facilitated by a round pin that protrudes from the bottom of the stand and fits into the clamp. There is no true rotational tolerance unless you only partially tighten the screw that goes into the base. Attempting to move the post when this screw is tightened enough to allow only controlled movement *will* result in the clamp moving itself no matter how tight it is. I would never use this arrow stand.
