This is my first pair of 5.11 pants. I read the reviews on fit and decided to order my regular size, 40 x32. The 40 inch waist fits OK but is a bit loose. The pants are several inches too long and are very baggy. The tags on the pants say that these are Relaxed Fit, which I didn't order and wasn't part of the description on ebay. The baggy fit in the butt makes the crotch hang down too far which contributes to the legs being too long. The construction of the pants looks pretty good, with tacked seams and reinforcement in several places. The back pockets are huge, not sure what the designer was thinking that you would put in there. They go down so far that if you carry your wallet in the back pocket you end up sitting on it, which is uncomfortable. I moved my wallet to the side cargo pocket and that works OK for me. I miss not having the small watch pocket in the right front, like blue jeans have.I don't know if I will order these again because there doesn't seem to be any way to tell if you are getting relaxed, regular, slim or whatever kind of fit. This may account for some of the variability in reviews discussing fit. If I would get another relaxed fit I would order a smaller size, maybe 38 x30.My rating is a 3 which is based on a 2 for the Relaxed Fit I didn't order and a 4 for the good quality pants.
