This silly rainbow goth thinks she's adorable!

I'm in my late 40's and developing varicose veins so I decided to try compression stockings after seeing the amazing results of wearing compression stockings all day while visiting family. The tights were comfortable and my veins, which showed up as jagged grey-green worms under my skin (can you tell I really don't like varicose veins? LOL), were flat - I mean flat and normal looking except it's color visible. No tremors and my legs weren't as tired and sore as they usually are after a long day of hiking. So I decided on compression stockings or socks and wanted to get a few pairs from different highly rated brands (that still fit my budget) and see which ones work best for me before buying more. :-) I saw them and squeaked at the pattern that matched my large hairbrush. I'm crazy about rainbows and had to try this. Other reviews said they're pretty good, although some people feel a little tight below the knee. I love the variety of patterns too! Some great ones that I will definitely pick up when I get the chance. I have large calves (18") so I ordered a size up from my actual shoe size hoping 17" would fit me. Unfortunately the knee was tight as others have said. My legs were very swollen that day after a long day of running errands, so I expected them to be tight. I'll try them the day my feet aren't swollen. :-) Otherwise I think these are pretty decent socks for the price. They're more like tube socks in that they don't have a defined heel or heavy toe reinforcement, so I had to guess where and how much to pull the stretch material down my legs. The fabric is light and smooth, not quite silky, but pleasant to the touch. But yeah, my muscular muscles and too much swelling was pretty much the limit these socks could handle. :-) Aside from the tightness in the knees (due to swollen legs), I think they're pretty damn cute and functional. It would be a fun little surprise if they peeked out from under my regular black wardrobe!
