If you are disappointed with the performance of today's phosphate-free dishwashing detergents, give this product a try. It contains phosphates (8.7%) so it works just like you remember detergents that worked before phosphates were banned for environmental reasons. I was sick of my dishes coming out with cling film and even the most expensive quantum dishwashing liquid didn't bother. I'm familiar with Alconox products in the lab, they always work well, so I've decided to buy a box for home use. Yes, it's more expensive, but it's worth it when you get clean dishes again! It worked very well for me as I expected from an Alconox product. Alcojet contains organic chlorine, so you may notice a slight odor of bleach. This can tarnish or damage soiled utensils over time, so use with caution. For delicate items I use a regular detergent and add some TSP (phosphate) powder as a booster. For dishwasher use I would recommend that you use a tablespoon per load and adjust +/- from there. If your dishes are mostly clean and you have soft water, a teaspoon may be enough. If water spots appear after using Alcojet, you can also try using the Citrajet product as an acid rinse during the final rinse. You can add it manually during the last rinse or fill the rinse aid dispenser (it is possible that Citrajet can damage the metal parts in the rinse aid dispenser as it is corrosive, so use it at your own risk). Otherwise, you can throw all your (otherwise clean) water-stained items in the dishwasher regularly, fill a dish soap jar with powdered citric acid, and start the cycle. Citric acid can stain some metals.
