I use them to store children's art supplies. I don't need anything sweet and they work very well. Boxes are a good deal for the money (I paid $24 for a set of four). I'm taking off a star because the lid doesn't close well. But when the grandkids put everything in boxes, I don't mind putting the lids on! They are transparent enough to see what's inside, they fold well and their size is suitable for many purposes. I would call them shoebox size. A bit of a disappointment was that they obviously came nested inside each other. It was almost impossible to break them. I literally had to use a screwdriver wedged between the two boxes to create an air gap and pull them apart. It didn't seem particularly safe. The seller may consider placing a sheet of paper between the boxes before stacking them together.
