The socket (male) side is fixed to provide power to the processor.
So, the first batch (I had to order 3 kits because only 1 out of 2 is aimed at regular GPUs) that I received had the correct pinout of the female part (the side that comes with the GPU connected). ) . but the male side had the wrong connector which is meant for CPU power and not PCIe. I thought hey maybe it was just a bug but no the replacement I got had the exact same issue. The pictures show that they don't have a cutout for the two connected GND pins and the two middle connectors closest to the bar are square.
