I'll skip all the other tricks/tips I've seen on Revain and get straight to the point. Many have commented that the old key component does not fit, these replacement parts are slightly different in hinge depth and button hole causing them to stick or not close fully. The solution is NOT to spend $20+ at the dealer to make a new key. Instead, knock a tiny roll pin out of both the old and new, then insert the old key into the new metal hinge/bow. The trick is to find something small enough, about 1mm in diameter. I tried various small punches and allen wrenches but they were too big to pierce. Then it dawned on me that I have a cheap set of mini picks from H***F***. Tapped with a 90 foot hook enough to grab the other side with the needle nose and pull the bobby pin out. Pull out the new rod and insert the old rod by aligning the groove on the rod with the hole for the pin. Have made two this way with no problems. Attached picture of the main components (elbow/bar) and lockpicks used.
