BEWARE! Don't buy this!

First of all, it arrived on time and felt good. but no instructions. No problem - check it out on YouTube, right? My husband tried THREE HOURS (no exaggeration) and various tools and various YouTube videos and printed information on the internet - and NO! First, we couldn't open it, and the usability of this item by others on YouTube didn't seem to match our experience at all. This item epitomizes the popular saying, "You get what you pay for!" In this case, you get nothing—and all for $8. I…

An easy way to replace a worn keychain!

I bought a used 2015 Chevy Malibu a few months ago and the rubber buttons on both remotes are cracked and frayed. I bought a replacement key fob shell, took the circuit board and key blade from the old key fob and just put them in the new shell. First, you can't cut corners with the old parts, they're all slightly different from the original. So I used a very small Torx screwdriver to push the pin from the old key blade into the new one. The hardest part for me was turning the spring to make…

2012 Camaro - easy solution!

This key was a great replacement for our original 2012 Camaro key fob that had worn out rubber buttons. We didn't have a new key blade, we were able to fit our cut key into this new keychain. We wanted to use the new flap on the new key fob to make it work properly, so we used a paperclip to pull the pin out of the new uncut blade and put the old cut blade into the new flap, which is very easy. The blade was tiny, too long to put the pen back in, so we just filed it down a bit with a nail file.

The second works great

I'll skip all the other tricks/tips I've seen on Revain and get straight to the point. Many have commented that the old key component does not fit, these replacement parts are slightly different in hinge depth and button hole causing them to stick or not close fully. The solution is NOT to spend $20+ at the dealer to make a new key. Instead, knock a tiny roll pin out of both the old and new, then insert the old key into the new metal hinge/bow. The trick is to find something small enough, about

Works but not exactly like the original key

The button on my original Chevy Cruze key fob fell out so I bought this replacement case hoping I could just swap out the guts and the key itself and get a new one key works. The first problem I had was the difficulty in removing the circuit boards from the original Chevrolet key. The Chevrolet factory key is sealed and needs to be carefully cut with a Dremel tool. This is of course not a problem when replacing the key body, but it can be a problem for people who don't like using a dremel to…

Read lest you be fooled

First of all, the actual installation went well. But GM should be ashamed no matter how hard they try to disable the original key fob. And they wonder why there is a secondary market. 🙄This thing was very easy to put together after taking apart the factory atrocities. All you need is a pair of pliers to take it apart and a small pin, needle, nail, etc. to remove the key from the GM's pivot mount and place it in the aftermarket. Take your time and everything will be fine. I've seen some reviews
