Read lest you be fooled

First of all, the actual installation went well. But GM should be ashamed no matter how hard they try to disable the original key fob. And they wonder why there is a secondary market. ๐Ÿ™„This thing was very easy to put together after taking apart the factory atrocities. All you need is a pair of pliers to take it apart and a small pin, needle, nail, etc. to remove the key from the GM's pivot mount and place it in the aftermarket. Take your time and everything will be fine. I've seen some reviews on here that say the car won't start after switching to these cases. There are no apartments here. Here are a few things to keep in mind when maintaining usability: 1. Take your time. If you don't have at least an hour to start this project, don't do it. If your normal keychain is the same as mine, it will be glued tightly. I had to slowly cut through my original until I exposed the bottom half of the circuit board. Then I slowly went around the perimeter of the case with a red-hot blade until it broke in half.2. If your key doesn't start the car after completing this process, don't blame these people. Either you did something wrong or your circuit board is defective.3. Don't start a test run without a full build. If the key isn't right next to the circuit board and in the ignition lock, it won't start. Trust me I saw the one star review and explored the possibilities. All in all a great product. Weighs less than factory weight due to standard "hollow" design. Save hundreds of inflated prices the dealer is likely to charge you for their junk. Last note. Because the butterflies on the originals fall off with any real use, they're cheap enough to buy just to replace the butterfly if that's all you need.
