Works but not exactly like the original key

The button on my original Chevy Cruze key fob fell out so I bought this replacement case hoping I could just swap out the guts and the key itself and get a new one key works. The first problem I had was the difficulty in removing the circuit boards from the original Chevrolet key. The Chevrolet factory key is sealed and needs to be carefully cut with a Dremel tool. This is of course not a problem when replacing the key body, but it can be a problem for people who don't like using a dremel to cut the original key into pieces. The second problem I had was trying to transfer the original key from the factory. Chevrolet key to fob replacement. This was done to avoid a trip to the locksmith and the expense of cutting the replacement key blade to fit the car. Some people have described being able to pop the pin out of the originally cut key and transfer it to a replacement fob. I've tried pushing the pin out on the spare key before messing around with my factory key to no avail. Instead, I decided to transfer the entire key from the original Chevrolet key fob to a replacement key fob. With a bit of dexterity, I was able to fit the original key into the replacement key fob, but I couldn't get the key to stay folded in the case. . Instead, it sticks straight out all the time, and when I try to fold it, it just pops back out. I think this is because the spare key doesn't have notches that are slightly different from the factory key. So I have a working electronic remote control, but I can't leave the key in the locked position. I think it's not such a bad compromise given the low cost of this replacement case, but if you're looking for a replacement that works exactly like the original dongle, this may not work for you.
